Hmmkiki,  another blogger on WordPress recently wrote a post wherein she expressed her gratitude to Jesus Christ for rescuing her in an unpleasant situation.  As a scientist and hence not very religious person I am wondering about the following possible situation: if two or more religious people all pray to have their wishes become real, but these individual wishes are in a conflict to each other, what will happen ? Or to describe it with your words: how will Jesus decide whom to fulfill the wishes and whom to bring disappointment and put him off for the next day ?
For instance imagine the following: you want to get home by train as fast as possible. Therefor you might want the train to take an express route and not stop at the stations on the way. So you pray to Jesus that the next train arriving should be an express train. Somebody else is also waiting for the train to get home, also a person believing in God, but he/she has to leave the train before you, at a station where express trains don’t stop. Therefore he/she prays to Jesus to make the next train a slow one. So Jesus receives two requests from two faithful people, but the two requests are contradictory. What shall he do ? He could ask Aretha Franklin for advise. At least her wonderful song could help to get rid of the headache.
